The Project
Impressions from the project process
Increases productivity due to complete enclosure with tailor-made screen system and efficient hydraulic climbing solution, adapted to site requirements.
The client’s safety standards also mean that unique solutions are required to cover gaps that would normally be overlooked. Vertical gaps between screens were covered using a profiled mesh which clipped into a special profile that was attached to the screen mesh. Allowances also had to be made to give enough room for post tensioning to occur on the slab edges. Here we were able to provide up to 750mm of width for the workers.
PERI Provided LPS for the safety screens, each building requires approximately 240 lineal meters. Some of the difficulties faced where in the varying floor heights which change from 3.8m to 4.2m to 5.5m, meaning provisions have been made to allow for flaps to be positioned at different heights.
Two loading platforms supplied per tower using RCS with screens above and below the platform for added safety.
To provide four levels of safety screens plus an additional two meters above the working level creating an 18.5m tall safety screen which could be hydraulically lifted. Often due to the pour sequence, screens were required to cantilever 6m.
Specialised screens were also provided to give added protection around the Alimaks.

Site Manager
The collaboration between Lend Lease Structures and PERI to develop a system which accommodated our comprehensive safety requirements was greatly appreciated. PERI has worked closely with us and their continued site service has been a valuable resource when called upon. The added benefit of hydraulics on the LPS system enabled us to free up crane time and helped us in achieving our tight programme.
